Roofing Applications

PermaDri coatings are an excellent resource for waterproofing new or old low-slope roofs. PermaDri coatings will provide effective roof repair over most aged roofing material except coal tar. PermaDri’s low-slope roof restoration system allows our customers to avoid tear-off, complete the job faster, and eliminate landfill cost. PermaDri coatings are easily applied using a brush, roller, squeegee, or sprayer. Our coatings typically cure within 24-48 hours (depending on application thickness, temperature, and relative humidity). When using our dual-component sprayer, our coatings set instantly. PermaDri coatings are cold-applied and do not contain any toxins or VOCs.  In addition, PermaDri coatings are highly elastomeric (850% elongation with 95% recovery) thus, they are able to adapt to surface movement and thermal changes.

Preparation for Restoration

1. Use an Authorized Applicator.
2. Inspect roofing substrate and test a small area for adhesion. Some surfaces such as coal tar are  unsuitable for use with PermaDri coatings.
3. Roof substrate shall be clean, dry, structurally sound, and well secured.
4. Determine moisture content of existing substrate. High moisture content indicates a potential problem. Work shall not continue until the problem is corrected.
   

Procedure for Restoration

1. After deck is prepared, coat all of the perimeters first using our paint grade coating Rubber Coat to prevent overspray issues.
2. Next, coat all the protrusions on the roof such as plumbing stacks, chimneys, skylights, etc. using fabric and coating.
3. Check for loose fasteners in the case of metal roofs and replace them as needed.
4. Use our trowel grade material (Rubber Patch) on all gaps such as seams. 
5. Coat the field according to our instructions in the authorized applicator manual.
